Brandon Debattista

Long-standing Malta Gaming Authority (MGA) employee Brandon Debattista has been promoted to Head of Legal and Regulatory Affairs at the company.

Mr Debattista joined the MGA as a Legal Intern back in January 2017, a position he held for eight months before he was promoted to Junior Legal Counsel.

In October 2018, Mr Debattista was once again promoted to Legal Counsel and almost two years after that he was appointed Senior Legal Counsel.

He held said role up until his latest promotion.

The MGA is the single regulatory body responsible for the governance of all gaming activities in Malta. Amongst other things, its activities include conducting research on various aspects of gaming, granting licences related to gaming, monitoring licensed gaming, and collecting gaming taxes on behalf of the government.

Before joining the MGA, Mr Debattista served as a Legal Trainee at Franco Debono & Associates’ Criminal Law Department and as a Legal Trainee at Ludvic Caruana Advocates’ Civil Law Department.
