KM Malta Airlines operated its full schedule without cancellations or diversions during Storm Harry, despite severe weather conditions affecting the Maltese Islands between Monday and Tuesday.
In a LinkedIn post, David Curmi, Executive Chairman of KM Malta Airlines, said that all scheduled flights were completed, with only minimal delays.
He attributed the outcome to coordinated operational planning and the work of teams across the airline. “This achievement is a testament to the resilience of our operations and to the dedication, professionalism, and teamwork of so many people across our operations,” he said, thanking flight deck and cabin crew as well as teams in Flight Operations, Operations Control Centre, Safety & Compliance, Ground Operations, Technical Operations, and Engineering.
Mr Curmi also acknowledged the role of external partners, including fuel suppliers, ground handlers, catering providers, Malta International Airport, and Malta Air Traffic Services, noting the contribution of “the extensive network of professionals working tirelessly behind the scenes”.
Highlighting the operational demands of adverse weather, Mr Curmi said: “Operating safely and reliably in challenging conditions requires experience, preparation, and above all, collaboration. You delivered all three.”
He added that the airline’s objective remains unchanged: “to provide stable, regular, and all-year-round connectivity between the Maltese Islands and Europe – even when conditions are at their most demanding.”
