Shoulder Compliance has announced the promotion of Gertrude Micallef to Senior Consultant, Regulatory Compliance, recognising her progression within the firm since joining in 2023.

The announcement was made by the company’s Founder, Charles Cassar, who highlighted Ms Micallef’s career transition into the regulatory compliance sector and her development within the organisation.

According to the Founder, Ms Micallef initially sought a junior role that would allow her to balance professional responsibilities with family commitments – a move described as a lateral shift into the industry. Over the past few years, she has advanced to support a portfolio of clients.

Ms Micallef holds a bachelor’s degree in ICT, with a focus on computer science and artificial intelligence.

Prior to entering the compliance field, she built a career in technology and professional services. Her previous roles include software developer, assistant manager, and manager at KPMG Malta, where she gained experience across technical and managerial functions.

As Senior Consultant, Regulatory Compliance, Ms Micallef is now responsible for overseeing regulatory obligations across a portfolio of clients, strengthening the firm’s advisory capacity within the compliance sector.
