Simon Caruana is the Director, Centre of Contemporary Tourism at the  Institute of Tourism Studies in Malta (ITS).

“I’m excited to share the news of my new role at the Institute of Tourism Studies – ITS. Director, Centre of Contemporary Tourism, driving forward the Institute’s next chapter in tourism research and education,” he said.

This role requires him to serve as the founding strategic leader of the newly established Centre of Contemporary Tourism at ITS. The role is also responsible for shaping the centre’s vision, academic direction, research agenda, and industry impact, with a strong focus on innovation, emerging tourism trends, sustainability, digitalisation, and experiential learning.

The Institute of Tourism Studies is Malta’s main educational institution for hospitality and tourism, offering a wide range of study programmes from Foundation to Master’s Degree level.
