Keith Sciberras - Casino Maltese President

The historic Casino Maltese has ushered in a new chapter in its legacy, as Keith Sciberras has been elected President. Prof. Sciberras took over from Martin Galea, who will now be serving as Hon. Treasurer.

The Casino Maltese is a social club created in 1852. The prestigious premises on Republic Street were originally built by the Knights of St John in the 17th century and used as the accounting branch of their treasury.

Prof. Sciberras is a noted academic, art historian, and Head of the Department of Art and History of Art at the University of Malta. His leadership is expected to bring a strong focus on cultural enrichment, heritage conservation, and member engagement.

Joining him on the new Executive Committee are Ms Petra Caruana Dingli as Vice President, Mr Martin Galea as Hon. Treasurer, Mr Richard Sladden as Hon. Secretary, Mr Paul Borg Olivier as Director General, Ms Louise Cutajar overseeing Events, and Mr Noel Manche heading Food & Beverage.

Founded in the 19th century, Casino Maltese is housed in a majestic palazzo in Valletta and has long served as a hub for Malta’s social, cultural, and intellectual community. Over the years, it has welcomed members from various spheres of Maltese society and has played host to distinguished events that blend tradition with contemporary relevance.
