Information Systems Limited (ISL) Director Simon Calleja on Monday shed light on the vast culture and history that Malta has to offer.

This came after the IT solutions company’s team last week visited Qormi’s parish church, also known as “Parroċċa ta’ San Ġorġ”, as part of a cultural and heritage awareness campaign.

Upon arrival, the team was “warmly greeted” by Adrian Vella and George Sciberras, who proceeded to give them insight on the church. The church is “steeped in history and now woven into the very fabric of Qormi’s culture”, from its Baroque architecture to the ongoing restorations and renovations.

ISL’s team also experienced a walk-through of all the church’s Good Friday procession statues, as well as the ringing of the church’s bells at noon. The company described it as a “unique opportunity to learn more about Malta’s religion, art and festivities”.

“We’d like to thank all those involved for making this an incredible experience for us, and to open our eyes to what our beloved country sometimes takes for granted,” it added.

“We have so much to be proud of,” Mr Calleja Urry said, before adding that “Malta is much more than sun and sea and offers a truly rewarding experience if culture and history are remotely on your radar.”

“We believe our employees should be given the opportunity to enjoy and appreciate all that Malta has to offer,” he added.

Mr Calleja Urry has been Director at ISL ever since it was founded back in 1994. Since its launch, ISL’s primary goal has been to “deliver comprehensive solutions that meet every business need”, and has helped a “variety of satisfied clients” across a diverse range of industries in that time. In 2013, it also started specialising in e-learning solutions through content providers Skillsoft and Nimble, allowing it to offer “powerful and flexible” authoring tools and Learning Management System (LMS) solutions.
