Ernest Simon Ellul Sullivan, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Sullivan Maritime, has passed away.

A respected figure within Malta’s maritime industry, Mr Ellul Sullivan was widely recognised for his vision, dedication and professionalism. Over the years, he played a significant role in shaping the sector, earning the respect of colleagues, partners and the wider business community.

Sullivan Maritime described his contribution as one that will be long remembered by all who had the opportunity to work with him.

Under his leadership, Sullivan Maritime continued a long-standing family legacy in shipping and maritime services in Malta, spanning four generations and more than a century. Since taking on the role of CEO in 1996, Mr Ellul Sullivan oversaw the company’s close collaboration with the Grimaldi Group, a partnership that has since extended into its third generation.

The company also built strong ties with local industry and service providers, positioning itself as a key player in Malta’s maritime ecosystem. Supported by a team of over 30 professionals, Sullivan Maritime became known for delivering added value to clients through both expertise and long-term relationships.

Sullivan Maritime described his contribution as one that will be long remembered by all who had the opportunity to work with him.

The company has extended its sincere condolences to his family and loved ones. Funeral details are expected to be announced in due course.
