Gavril Flores has been chosen by the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to participate in the Global Government Leadership Programme, the Malta Digital Innovation Authority (MDIA) has announced.

Mr Flores, MDIA’s Chief for Strategy, Policy and Governance was recognised as a leader in the respective field for “possessing the ability to navigate contemporary challenges, embrace emerging technologies, and is able to cultivate a culture of continous learning.”

He joined MDIA in January 2023,  being tasked with implementing MDIA’s Strategic Plan 2023-2025, launched in 2022.

Now, during the Global Government Summit – as part of an international collaborative endeavour – he delivered a presentation on how countries can revolutionise food security by harnessing Artificial Intelligence for the benefit of society and stakeholders.

Earlier this year, 20 senior management officials working within the Public Service participated in the Executive Leadership Programme, an international training programme led by professionals from the UAE.

This programme stemmed from a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed in Dubai last year. These officials graduated last Sunday.
