Michael R. Virardi is a world-renowned leading trainer, speaker and best-selling author on public-speaking, leadership and business culture. He has worked in over 25 countries with some of global companies like Coca Cola, Google, The American P&I Club, Microsoft, and McDonald’s. On Monday (today), he will be giving a talk for the Malta Business Network, sharing his expertise on how to unlock the true potential of a business through leadership and what he calls the loyalty advantage.

MaltaCEOs sat down with Mr R Virardi ahead of the event to talk about a few things we can expect this evening.

One of the key points for Mr R Virardi’s is the importance of listening. As he explains, “God gave us two ears and one mouth, we should use them in that proportion. Listen twice and then talk once, where most people talk, talk, talk.” He emphasises that leaders who truly listen to their teams—regardless of age or experience— thrive through the art of listening: Gaining valuable insights and better adapted strategies to better meet the needs of their organisation. Sometimes the simplest concepts bring the most profound change.

Another critical point is the role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in modern business. A human working with a computer can beat any human working on their own, or a group of humans, or any computer on its own. So it’s not Artificial Intelligence versus humanity, it’s Artificial Intelligence and humanity.” He encourages businesses to embrace AI as a tool for efficiency and innovation, rather than viewing it as a threat.

As the event title suggests, Mr R Virardi will expanse on leadership and how that influences a culture for sustained success, in a way you probably wouldn’t expect.

We will talk about how you should become the person of last resort as a CEO. As a C-level executive. If you manage to become the person of last resort, you foster a culture of trust, accountability, and a culture of collaboration, and ultimately loyalty.

– Michael R. Virardi

Leadership shapes the culture, which in turn gives you a loyalty advantage. What is the loyalty advantage? Having loyal internal customers. Their hearts, minds and souls.”

Mr R Virardi believes that CEOs need to “reverse the hierarchy,” where frontline employees take centre stage in customer interactions, and leaders act as enablers.

We’re going to talk about empowered employees, having a vision and implementing it, and having a mentor mindset. By adopting a mentor mindset—pushing employees to grow while offering support—leaders can unlock the potential of their teams and drive long-term success. ”

Tonight’s talk by the Malta Business Network will happen at 6:00pm at Xara Lodge, and was organised in collaboration with BRND WGN and Xara Collection.
