Experienced fintech executive Reuben Abela has been appointed Chief Operating Officer of ACE Money Transfer’s Irish entity, where he will be tasked with the company’s growth across the European Union.

Speaking to MaltaCEOs.mt, Mr Abela describes the appointment as “a great opportunity to join one of the biggest remittance players in Europe, and a chance to make an impact in a growing sector of financial services.”

He joins ACE after holding C-level positions at Andaria, Xace, and most recently Bridge Link.

Founded in 2002, ACE offers money transfer services in more than 100 countries, with oversight from UK, Irish, Canadian and Australian financial regulators. In 2024, it won “Best FinTech App”at the UK Business Awards.

Speaking to Dubai’s Khaleej Times last October, ACE CEO Rashid Ashraf highlighted the human element behind the business.

“When we send money, we don’t just send currency; we send love, education, and opportunity across borders,” he said. “Remittances are the invisible bridge that keeps families united, even when separated by distance.”
