Trumia has announced the appointment of Ryan Cachia as its new Chief Executive Officer, bringing on board a seasoned leader with over 20 years of experience in banking, payments, and fintech.

A regulated Electronic Money Institution (EMI) headquartered in Malta, Trumia serves both businesses and individuals with a focus on secure, scalable, and modern financial services.

Mr Cachia “brings exceptional operational and regulatory expertise,” the company said in a statement. “With his leadership, we’re entering an exciting new chapter focused on empowering our teams and delivering even more value to our customers and partners.”

Prior to joining Trumia, Mr Cachia held a number of senior leadership positions, most notably at Trust Payments, where he served in multiple roles over eight years. These included Head of Finance, Managing Director, Group CFO, and most recently, Executive Director and CFO of Trust Payments Malta. His track record also includes executive roles at PayMix Limited and Insignia Cards Limited, where he served as Head of Finance and Chief Financial Officer respectively.

Mr Cachia began his career as an Accounts Officer and Financial Controller Assistant at SAK Ltd. He later joined NBG Bank Malta Ltd in 2009, where he spent nearly four years as Finance Manager. His professional journey has been marked by a consistent focus on regulatory compliance, operational efficiency, and strategic financial planning.
