The Nationalist Party’s new leader Alex Borg has announced four fresh posts within his party, including its first-ever CEO, lawyer Sabine Agius Cabourdin.
During the first political activity organised by the party as part of the celebrations of the 61st anniversary of Independence in Triton Square, Dr Borg announced that Sabine Agius Cabourdin will be the first Chief Executive.
This comes with the PN leader’s pledge to bring greater participation of women in politics.
Dr Agius Cabourdin is a property and commercial lawyer who founded Fidem Foundation in 2018 to support vulnerable women by giving them access to education and mental health guidance. A multi-faceted philanthropist, she is also president of the BOV Joseph Calleja Foundation and a member of the Malta Women’s Lobby.
Dr Agius Cabourdin has promised to help the party sort and publish their finances within the first 100 days of Dr Borg’s leadership.
Engineer Simon Mizzi will serve as the chairperson of the Delivery Office, a new office within the PN that will serve to keep the leader on track with delivering the party’s promises.
Simon Vella Gregory will serve as the campaign manager. Mr Vella Gregory is a NET news veteran who worked as PN’s communications coordinator until he resigned a year later in 2022, due to personal reasons. He now returns to the party in this new role and will be responsible for leading the work that has already begun in relation to the electoral campaign for the upcoming general election.
Lastly, Munxar mayor and auditor Damien Spiteri will serve as a Head of Secretariat for Dr Borg.
