This week, fast-moving London-based mobility start-up Trilvee presented its technology demonstrator to Minister for Transport, Infrastructure and Capital Projects Aaron Farrugia, Minister for Environment, Energy and Enterprise Miriam Dalli, as well as to project investors.

GO CEO Nikhil Patil stressed that his company is “the largest investor in Malta’s digital infrastructure.”

Speaking of the impact that such a project would have on the daily lives of people, and on how his company tends to perceive such technological growth, Mr Patil stated that “our purpose is to drive a digital Malta where no one is left behind.”

“What we are witnessing here today is testament to this. It clearly demonstrates how this investment in infrastructure and the latest technologies, in particular 5G, is transforming the transportation industry, making the lives of many, better every day,” Mr Patil added.

Speaking of his newest innovation, Trilvee CEO Michael Mangion stated that “nothing has changed in the last 120 years,” as he made reference to how cars are generally “vastly oversized for most city journeys.”

Born in Malta, trained in the US, and living in London for the last 15 years, Mr Mangion has seen how single occupancy SUVs clog up the narrow roads leading to gridlock and embarked on the vision of building a highly efficient, more human focused urban transport network, supported by a team of experts in software, automotive, and product.
