United States Chargé d’Affaires Gwendolyn Green welcomed over 80 women who applied for the US Department of State’s 2022 Academy for Women Entrepreneurs (AWE) in Malta.

This took place during a reception on 30th August.

The AWE programme, which is being launched in Malta for the second time, is aimed at providing female entrepreneurs from all over the world the necessary springboard to get their business going.

Throughout this programme, participants will be trained in pitching their business ideas and will also have the opportunity to engage in a competition for seed funding to invest in their businesses.

“I am incredibly proud to launch this global entrepreneurship program in Malta for the second year running following the great success of last year’s program,” Ms Green said.

“Women entrepreneurs like you are a growing market force and have a critical role to play in building dynamic, innovative economies. This is what the Academy for Women Entrepreneurs is all about,” she added.
