Andrew Azzopardi, Founder of Vintage’82 Ltd, opted to “personally deliver” hampers during the wine importing company’s first Christmas period, he shared on Friday.

As he “hopped into” the company’s van and “drove around Malta delivering hampers”, he learnt that “driving is damn tiring and frustrating”.

“Missed deliveries, closed roads, illegal parking, I can list a million things. A big shout out to all the taxi drivers, bus drivers, and deliverymen who do this on a daily basis. Kudos to you. Let’s be nicer to them,” Mr Azzopardi said.

On the other hand, he noted how “beautiful” Malta really is, and that we “just need to stop and look”. “Whether you venture north, south, or in city centres, stop and appreciate the beauty,” Mr Azzopardi explained.

Additionally, he remarked that “the majority of people are so nice, appreciative and helpful”.

“A massive thank you to whoever chose us to be their partners in gifting their clients. It was truly our honour,” Vintage’82 shared in a separate social media post. It added that it enjoyed “meeting some of your lovely clients who were so appreciative of these gifts”.

Mr Azzopardi founded Vintage’82 Ltd last year, making use of his insight into the world of wine-investment to purchase “some of the most investment-worthy wines the world can offer and then help sell them”. It focuses on importing and bespoke sourcing of some of the finest and rarest wines in the world, and also supplies premium and ultra-premium wines for shops, restaurants, and private cellars.
