Working Town Founder and Managing Director Mark Azzopardi took to social media to encourage readers to ‘leave their cars at home’ on World Car Free Day.
Celebrated annually on 22nd September, this day seeks to encourage drivers around the globe to make do without their cars.

“Many of you know I am a true believer in sustainability and looking after our environment. You will often also see me travelling around our island on my bicycle or turning up to your office with my cycle helmet and high-vis jacket in hand,” Mr Azzopardi wrote.
“Yes, at times it may be a little hairy, but the satisfaction that I am doing my small personal bit for the environment is highly rewarding,” he continued.
In light of this, Mr Azzopardi challenged readers to “take an alternative mode of sustainable transport” or share a ride with someone else – even if “just for one day”.
“I would love to know if you do it, so please do comment below or tag me in any post letting us know what you did to support World Car Free Day,” he concluded.
