Graziella Grech, FinanceMalta’s Chief Operating Officer (COO), has announced that for every delegate registration for its upcoming 18th Annual Conference, it will plant one tree.

FinanceMalta, a public-private initiative set up to promote Malta as an International Financial Centre, is hosting its annual conference ‘Redefining finance: A quality-driven future for Malta’, on 19th and 20th November 2025.

“Whereas last year’s edition attracted 750 delegates, the fact that this year’s edition promises to attract even higher numbers means that this campaign should truly leave a meaningful environmental legacy,” she announced during the organisation’s summer networking event.

“When we think of the future, we need to think of a sustainable one and this is what spurred FinanceMalta to launch this innovative initiative in collaboration with the national Tree 4 U Campaign,” she shared.

She continued: “The growth of this important event is also being reflected in the number of organisations who every year, collaborate with us with their sponsorship. This year’s annual conference has attracted a record 39 sponsors,” added Ms Grech.

The conference will include panel discussions and interactive breakout sessions, exploring topics such as sustainable finance, asset management, capital markets and Malta’s growing role in the global insurance landscape.

Additionally, it will close with a forward-looking session focused on tax reform and strategies to attract investment.

Key speakers include:

  • Maria Luís Albuquerque, EU Commissioner for Financial Services and the Savings and Investments Union
  • Jürgen Kreuz, cybersecurity and AI expert, on the impact of AI in finance
  • Ed Vaizey, Member of the House of Lords, on the digital evolution of small nations
  • Marjut Falkstedt, CEO of the European Investment Fund
  • Prof. John Vella, Professor of Law at the University of Oxford
