‘Together, we delivered some truly impactful projects’ –  Ludwig Micallef leaves Deloitte

After 19 years in technology consulting, Deloitte’s Director of Technology and Transformation, Ludwig Micallef, has announced his departure from the firm.

In a LinkedIn post, Mr Micallef reflected on his career, saying he had “some great mentors and leaders, met and worked with amazing colleagues, some of whom became close friends and made connections that eventually became clients or business partners.”

"It’s been a journey that started over 19 years ago, at a local boutique technology company called Alert. We were a small team but packed quite a punch. Alert was eventually acquired by Deloitte in 2016, and that became my entry point into the Big Four and technology consulting world," wrote Mr Micallef.

Reflecting on how he managed to spend so many years in the same organisation, Mr Micallef said: “when after 19 years you still love what you do like it’s your first day, you have a great team of people around you, and you’re constantly involved in transformative projects that positively impact your customers or the broader community, then that’s your fuel. You never really stop to think about moving on.”

However, after what he described as an exceptional 19 years, Mr Micallef said he now feels that the time has come to challenge himself in a different environment.

Mr Micallef has served as Deloitte’s Director of Technology and Transformation since December 2020.
