Alexiei Dingli, a Professor of Artificial Intelligence within the University of Malta’s Faculty of ICT, has been elected Deputy Chairman at San Anton School.
Founded in 1988, San Anton School is an independent, co-educational, mixed ability school educating over 1,000 students aged between 18 months and 16 years, from pre-kindergarten all the way through to secondary level.
The Imselliet school is led by recently appointed Head Bernadette Stivala, who succeeded the late Sandro Spiteri.
Prof. Dingli’s involvement with the Mgarr School dates back to 2019, when he was appointed Board Member.
The Deputy Chairman has also been closely involved with the University of Malta for just under 15 years, having joined the educational institute as an AI Professor back in 2007.
He held said role for nine years before being appointed Head of the Faculty of ICT’s AI Department. After three years in said position, Prof. Dingli went back to serving as an AI Professor.
His previous experiences also include Senior Manager at Employment and Training Corporation and Researcher at the University of Sheffield. Prof. Dingli even served as Mayor of Valletta for almost 12 years, between 2008 and 2019.
