Bank of Valletta plc has confirmed the regulatory approval of Ingrid Azzopardi as its new Non-Executive Director, following her appointment at the Bank’s Annual General Meeting held on 29th May 2025.

Ms Azzopardi brings over 30 years of senior leadership experience in internal audit, with a career that spans the telecoms, banking, gaming, hospitality, and real estate sectors. A Chartered Director, she holds a B.A. Hons in Accountancy and a Master in Accountancy, and is a Certified Public Accountant and Auditor.

Her board-level experience includes serving on numerous public and private sector entities with a focus on housing, culture, insurance, and banking. She has also chaired various audit and risk committees, contributing her expertise in areas such as fraud prevention, security, investigations, risk management, and sustainability.

In addition to her professional roles, Ms Azzopardi currently serves as Deputy Chair on the Board of Administrators of the Malta ESG Alliance and holds a certificate in Business Sustainability Management from the University of Cambridge. She is a Fellow of the Malta Institute of Accountants, a Member of the UK Institute of Directors, and a Member of the Institute of Internal Auditors – Malta Chapter.

Her appointment to Bank of Valletta’s Board of Directors is effective from 28th July 2025.
