Daniel Thompson-Yvetot was named Malta’s cyber security leader of the year by MITA, the Malta Information Technology Agency.

Mr Thompson-Yvetot was awarded during the seventh edition of CYBER ROOT, Malta’s national cybersecurity event hosted by MITA.

This flagship conference brings together internationally acclaimed speakers and locally respected experts to share cutting-edge insights, strategies and real-world experiences shaping the future of cybersecurity.

A major highlight of CYBER ROOT 2025 was the launch of the CYBER AWARDS, created to recognise and celebrate exceptional contributions to cybersecurity in Malta and within the National Cybersecurity Community.

Mr Thompson-Yvetot said he was proud to accept the award.

“[During CYBER ROOT], Jane Frankland (a prominent cyber security CEO) said, ‘achievement is inconsistent, development is random’. Nevertheless, I am proud to serve our local, national, and international cyber communities, and thereby honoured to accept the premiere Cyber Leader of the Year award from MITA,” he said.

The co-creator of the open-source toolkit Tauri and CEO of CrabNebula, Mr Thompson-Yvetot is also the co-founder of Comply.Land, a dynamic cybersecurity conference. Its debut in September brought together regulators, tech leaders, policymakers, and innovators from across Europe for an immersive conference experience at the intersection of compliance and innovation.
