Francine Farrugia, the finance manager and PN councillor facing allegations of defrauding the Malta College of Arts, Science and Technology (MCAST) of €2.3 million, has been officially suspended from Business and Professional Women (BPW) Malta.
Speaking to this newsroom, BPW President Mariella Camilleri confirmed that a decision has been made to suspend Ms Farrugia’s membership.
“Once the procedures are final and res judicata we will re-evaluate accordingly,” she continues.

BPW Malta is a worldwide influential network of business and professional women in more than 100 countries.
Ms Farrugia has since also been suspended from MCAST, which also confirmed that an “external audit is underway”.
Media reports also indicated that she transferred €1.9 million into her Revolut account, along with additional transfers totalling €422,420 into her bank account.
