Francesca Ellul

Francesca Ellul, Head of Recruitment and Business Development Manager at StreetHR took to social media to point out Malta’s ‘unnecessarily negative’ attitude towards customer service.

“Whether I speak with clients, colleagues, or friends, we always tend to say the same thing – ‘we’re not known for great customer service in Malta’,” Ms Ellul wrote.

In a bid to challenge said attitudes, Ms Ellul highlighted that the country is “promoting a culture of great customer service (and experience) within businesses across all departments.”

At the same time, the Head of Recruitment acknowledged that a few negative experiences with a single department or staff member may tarnish one’s perception of the country’s treatment of customers.

“Creating a culture of exceptional customer service / experience needs work and nurturing, and must be lived from the top down,” Ms Ellul continued.

Having worked for years in the local recruitment industry, Ms Ellul has undoubtedly had a taste of what different customer service departments all over Malta have to offer.

“I, for one, would love to see the overall perception of service in Malta improve and no longer be what most of us think,” she concluded.

Prior to her role at StreetHR, Ms Ellul occupied managerial roles in the recruitment departments of three different companies – Nicholls Moisa, iGaming Elite, and Reed Specialist Recruitment Malta.
