After announcing that Belgian quantum tech firm iQrypto will expand its operations to Malta, CEO and Founder Alessandro Brunetti said that moving to the island has been a longstanding dream of his.
“Almost 20 years ago, I dreamed of moving to Malta to pursue my career in semiconductors,” he said.
“Life took me in different directions, but Malta somehow always stayed in the back of my mind.”
“Fast forward two decades, and here we are, expanding iQrypto to Malta, this time bringing our own semiconductor technologies with us!”
iQrypto specialises in quantum security and semiconductor technology, including quantum random number generator (QRNG) chips that can be used to strengthen encryption and cybersecurity systems.
Its Malta operations are set to include a hub for applied research and development, advanced electronic systems, software development, and technology commercialisation.
“We want to bring research closer to real-world applications, connect engineering talent with industrial opportunities, and build new partnerships across Europe's semiconductor ecosystem,” the company said.
“This is an exciting step for iQrypto, and we're looking forward to building something meaningful in Malta!”
