Tumas Group has announced the appointment of Ian Bonello as Group Chief Financial Officer. He is replacing Ray Sladden, who had held the position since 1998.

Mr Sladden will now head the group’s Treasury function. He will remain an executive director of several Tumas Group entities.

Mr Bonello joined the group’s Corporate Office in 2024, following his departure from his previous role at the Dolmen Hotel, one of Tumas Group’s hospitality subsidiaries.

Since then, the group said, he has effectively undertaken his new responsibilities while also managing the conclusion of duties related to his former position.

Mr Bonello brings substantial experience from prior finance roles and, over the past year, has gained valuable insight into the group’s finance function.

“This exposure positions him well to lead the financial operations of the group going forward.”

Mr Bonello holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Malta, the Professional Qualification from the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants and a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Leicester. He is a Certified Public Accountant warrant holder and is a fellow member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants and the Malta Institute of Accountants.
