Former Transport Malta CEO Jonathan Borg has been appointed Strategic Advisor, Maritime Affairs & Diplomacy (Mediterranean) at the London-based Radner Private Office.

Radner Private Office describes itself as an independent private office supporting principals, founders, companies, individuals, families and family offices, often in circumstances involving significant assets, multiple jurisdictions and established advisory relationships.

At Radner, Mr Borg will focus on port diplomacy, maritime security and strategic policy across the Mediterranean, said the company’s Director, Melody Leonie Solomon. She noted that his role is built on 38 years of experience across the maritime and oil and gas sectors, giving him a “deep, practical understanding of the industry’s technical and political drivers.”

Ms Solomon said Mr Borg “connects British commercial interests with the complex regulatory landscape of the Mediterranean, providing the on-the-ground insight necessary to navigate the region’s vital maritime corridors.”

He will be supporting Radner’s work by providing real-time intelligence on port conditions, regional stability and security trends, with his “unique perspective” assisting in “complex cross-border environments where commercial, regulatory, and geopolitical considerations meet.”

Jonathan Borg had been appointed as CEO of Transport Malta in May 2023, and stayed in the position for under a year.

Among other things, he previously also served as a member on the board of directors of the Malta Maritime Forum, and Chairman of the Board of Directors for Yachting Malta. He has also served as Director of Business Development with Bluhull Group, a provider of marine services, since 2012, and was previously a Co-Founder and shareholder of Ablecare Oilfield Services Group.
