BPW Europe has appointed Mariella Camilleri as its new Director of Communications.

Ms Camilleri also serves as President of BPW Valletta, where she contributes to initiatives that place women’s economic empowerment, leadership, and inclusion at the centre of public and professional discourse.

BPW Europe is the strongest regional network within BPW International, representing more than 18,000 members across nearly 31 countries. Its mission is to advance equal opportunities and status for women in economic, civil, and political life, while promoting the financial independence of women throughout Europe.

Ms Camilleri brings to the role a career that spans finance, strategic advisory work, and the building of high-impact international communities. With professional roots in banking and venture capital, she combines strategic and financial acumen with an understanding of governance, growth, and responsible leadership.

As President of BPW Valletta, she recently acted as the strategic architect of the 18th European Regional Conference, hosted in Malta. The conference brought together over 450 delegates from 43 countries, including global leaders, policymakers, and innovators, to engage in dialogue on the future of work, digitalisation and AI, globalisation, leadership, and gender equity.

Ms Camilleri describes herself as a board-ready leader and global advocate for women’s empowerment, thriving at the intersection of governance, inclusion, and international cooperation. Her strengths include strategic board leadership, multi-country stakeholder engagement, event curation, fundraising, coalition-building, and sustained advocacy for women in business and inclusive leadership.

In her new role as Director of Communications, Ms Camilleri is expected to further strengthen BPW Europe’s voice, visibility, and strategic messaging across its diverse membership.

Alongside her work within BPW, Ms Camilleri continues to express a strong interest in contributing at board level, particularly within organisations that value diversity of thought, ethical governance, and long-term impact. Her areas of interest include innovation, education, sustainability, finance, and global development.
