Farsons has appointed Michael Farrugia as Chief Executive Designate, effective 1st October 2025, as part of its leadership succession plan. He will formally assume the role of Chief Executive Officer on 1st July 2026, succeeding Norman Aquilina, who has led the company since 2010.
Mr Farrugia, who joined Farsons in 2006, currently serves as Deputy Chief Executive of the Beverage Business. In his new role, he will be tasked with steering the Group’s next phase of growth, with a particular focus on brand strength, operational excellence, and accelerating international expansion.
“It is an honour to be entrusted with this new role,” he said. “Building on our proud heritage, I look forward to the chapter ahead as we continue to strengthen our brands at home, invest in operational and customer excellence, while driving growth abroad.”
The Board also confirmed that outgoing CEO Norman Aquilina will continue to play a key leadership role, taking on the position of Executive Chairman of Quinco Holdings plc, the newly listed Food business spun out of Farsons earlier this year.
