Francesca Ellul, local recruitment veteran and Founder of Pursue Consultancy, took to social media to share some of the most pertinent lessons 2021 has taught her.

Having experienced a variety of senior recruitment-related roles throughout the past six years, in 2021 Ms Ellul branched out and opened her very own consultancy firm.

“The last quarter of this year has been the most challenging yet rewarding period of my career to date. Having taken the leap to set up on my own, here’s what I’ve learnt,” she began.

“People are very supportive and keen to see you succeed, even if they are potential ‘competitors’,” the Founder wrote.

Looking back at her experience as a self-employed worker, Ms Ellul added that “it’s not easy to just find a productive and consistent routine when you’re working for yourself.”

To facilitate this process, she suggests “[setting] aside time for core activities that aren’t your strong suit” and keeping a close eye on one’s mental state.

“This transition hasn’t been the easiest, and it’s okay to take a day off to come back stronger. All in all, I’m very thankful to have taken the decision, and I know with some adjusting everything will fall into place,” Ms Ellul wrote.

“Here’s to having a super productive 2022 and engaging with clients that equally value relationships, authenticity, and quality,” she concluded.

Founded last November, Ms Ellul’s Pursue Consultancy was set up to support job seekers and business to find the best possible opportunity or talent that they seek – with or without going through the company as an agency.

Pursue Consultancy’s foundation was the culmination of a series of senior recruitment-related roles over the span of a number of years.
