Wolt Malta has appointed Chris Tanti as its new General Manager, a move the company says forms part of its next phase of growth locally and within its wider international structure.

Mr Tanti joins the Maltese operation following several leadership roles within Wolt across different markets and business verticals. Prior to his appointment, he was involved in the company’s expansion into the retail segment, contributing to the growth of categories such as grocery, electronics, pet supplies, and health and beauty, which have since become a significant part of Wolt’s business model globally.

He also formed part of the commercial leadership team during Wolt’s pre-launch and launch in Kosovo, a market the company describes as one of its most successful globally. Wolt’s operations in Kosovo today include more than 800 local businesses and over 400 couriers.

In 2025, Mr Tanti served as Interim General Manager for Wolt Czech Republic, overseeing the market during a transitional period following his work in Kosovo and other regional initiatives.

Before joining Wolt, Mr Tanti spent 15 years in the hospitality industry, leading pre-opening and turnaround operations for high-volume venues. His experience includes staffing, logistics, budgeting, cost control, and managing multi-site restaurant and events operations, as well as overseeing commercial performance across conferences and MICE segments.

In his new role, Mr Tanti will oversee Wolt’s operations in Malta, focusing on partnerships with restaurants and retail merchants, service development for customers, and the company’s local commerce offering.

Speaking about his appointment, Mr Tanti said: “I’m honoured to lead Wolt Malta at this stage of the company’s journey. My experience across markets and verticals has reinforced how powerful local commerce platforms can be when they combine operational excellence with a deep understanding of partner needs. I look forward to working with our teams and partners to drive sustained growth for merchants and customers alike.”

Founded in Helsinki in 2014, Wolt was acquired by DoorDash in 2022 and has since expanded its offering beyond food delivery into groceries, retail products, and other everyday services across multiple markets.
