Camilleri Finance plc has announced the appointment of George Debono as Chief Executive Officer of Camilleri Holdings Limited, effective 5th January 2026.

Mr Debono brings more than 30 years’ experience in the banking sector, having held senior and C-suite roles across retail banking, corporate banking, business development and treasury functions.

His career includes a role in establishing Malta’s first HSBC Premier Centre in 2010, after which he went on to lead several corporate banking teams, including international, real estate and hotels portfolios.

In July 2019, Mr Debono joined BNF Bank plc as Chief Commercial Officer. During his tenure, the bank reported significant growth in both its balance sheet and profitability, established a branch in London, issued its first bond, and was awarded Malta’s Bank of the Year for three consecutive years.

Mr Debono holds a Master’s degree with distinction in International Banking and Finance from the University of Salford, Manchester.
