Mark Bajada has been appointed as a Knight of the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem, one of the most esteemed Catholic orders which falls under the direct protection of the Pope.

Reflecting on this distinction, renewable energy, engineering, manufacturing and hospitality entrepreneur Mark Bajada, expressed both humility and a sense of responsibility.

“This sacred distinction is not only a recognition, but a solemn calling; a call to serve with greater purpose, humility and love,” he said on LinkedIn.

The Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem’s mission is “to strengthen the Christian life of its members and to support the Christian presence in the Holy Land by way of providing material aid and by offering prayers for peace through the Holy intercession of Our Blessed Lady of Palestine.”

“In receiving this honour, I am reminded of the enduring mission of the Order: to support the Christian presence in the Holy Land and to be instruments of peace, hope, and charity in a world that needs them more than ever,” Mr Bajada added.

He continued: “May this moment be more than a personal milestone; may it serve as a reminder for all of us to act with compassion, to strive for justice and to walk humbly in service of others.”

Expressing gratitude to those who supported him throughout his journey, Mr Bajada acknowledged the weight of the responsibility he now carries. “I carry this responsibility with deep reverence and a heart full of gratitude,” he concluded.

Mr Bajada is the Chairman of Bajada Lyons Group that has a diverse portfolio spanning in renewable energy, healthcare innovation, specialised engineering, manufacturing and hospitality.

He is passionate about transformative investments and appeared as a Shark Tank investor for three seasons, committing €1.3 million to AI expert Alexei Dingli. Mr Bajada is also the Deputy President of the Malta Chamber of Commerce.
