Curt Ebejer, Co-Founder of Tminta, a recently launched platform bringing self-employed and freelancers together with potential clients, has announced the launch of a new project: social media platform xjismu.

Sharing the news of the project, he writes, “our ambition to connect keeps getting bigger”, introducing the new social media platform as one that “fully encourage[s] speech. Any kind of speech.”

According to xjismu’s description, the tool “empowers people by creating a safe space for everyone to speak their minds and engage in activism”, and aims to initiate discussion, allow its users to connect with like-minded individuals and act as a voice for anyone who has an opinion to share.

Enabling users to post a discussion and have people answer and share their thoughts, the platform boasts a similar interface to popular social news and discussion website Reddit and aims at initiating valuable discussions which benefit the greater good of the Maltese community.

Apart from connecting people, it also provides the opportunity for users to earn badges and points by being active one the app. By gaining points, users can unlock badges which set members at different levels, such as beginner, intermediate and expert.
