Malta-based cryptocurrency exchange platform Xcoins, which recently became one of the first cryptocurrency platforms to receive In-Principle approval for a Class 3 VFA license by the MFSA, has appointed Karen Falzon as Chief Risk Officer.

“As the Chief of Risk, it’s my responsibility to also understand the full cycle of the business. It’s about finding a good balance between regulations and business success”, Ms Falzon said of the role, explaining that “although I manage risk primarily, I also have a background in customer relations and business acumen – knowledge which is crucial to risk management.”
With 25 years of experience in financial services, Ms Falzon describes the role as an “exciting and challenging” one, asserting that fintech and cryptocurrencies are the future.
“We are happy to welcome experienced team members like Karen Falzon, as security and risk management are critical to the success and long-term growth of Xcoins”, CEO and co-founder of Xcoins Rob Frye said of the appointment.
The award acknowledges the extensive creative collaboration required in digital game development.
