The Malta Stock Exchange (MSE) plc Executive Chairman, Joseph Portelli, has been reappointed as Chair of The World Federation of Exchanges’ (WFE) Governance and Nominations Committee.

He has been reappointed to serve for an additional two-year term, the MSE shared on Tuesday, as it congratulated him. Mr Portelli was first appointed in February 2023.

“This esteemed role reflects his dedication to excellence and innovation in global financial markets,” the MSE said.

Furthermore, Mr Portelli spoke at the WFE Annual Meeting at Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on 20th November during a session titled ‘Tradition and Innovation.’

During his intervention, he shared insights on how traditional financial markets continue to thrive in the evolving world of crypto.

The WFE was founded in 1961, and it includes many of the world’s largest and most influential exchanges, as well as many from frontier markets. Today, it is one of the world’s most influential financial market industry associations.

Its Governance and Nominations Committee oversees Director elections and advises the Board on governance matters.
